Corporate Major Gifts Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, secure and steward corporate prospects and donors, targeting gifts in the $25K - $1Million+ range on behalf of the Museum. Actively participant in the implementation of the Museum’s comprehensive capital campaign, focusing on campaign priorities and involving volunteers and other shareholders in the realization of annual corporate campaign goals. Responsibilities include interacting with and soliciting corporate partners and donors for annual gifts, major gifts and planned gifts as appropriate.  Work directly with all other fundraisers, senior staff and volunteer leadership. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Directly manage a portfolio of at least 75 active corporate accounts
    • Management of the prospect portfolio includes:
    • Development of written solicitation plans for new and current major gift prospects within portfolio.
    • Developing relationships with prospects through various cultivation and stewardship activities. 
    • Completing 150-200 quality contacts per year with prospects from portfolio                
  • Coordinate and provide assistance in the design of strategies for cultivating and soliciting donors held in portfolios of senior staff and volunteer leadership.
  • Develop and lead strategies for the successfully solicitation of major campaign gifts from account portfolio. 
  • With other External Affairs staff, identify, qualify and research new donor prospects.
  • With other Corporate Team staff, organize campaign-specific events and donor Museum tours.
  • Manage other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree from four-year College or University and/or four (4) to six (6) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • A minimum of 2 years fundraising experience, including prospect solicitation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with donors.  Experience working with high-level volunteers, donors and program staff on collaborative activities.
  • Self-directed and proactive.
  • Able to manage confidential information with discretion. 
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Familiar with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge 7.0 necessary.
